Meeting point next to the Golden Menorah in the Hurva Square.
We will start our tour at Hezkiah’s wall an amazing fortified broad wall built by king Hezekiah, 2700 years ago!
We stroll down to The Cardo renovated with beautiful mosaics – the main street of Jerusalem (Aelia Capitoline) from the Byzantine period!
We will take an underground path, following the Byzantine street, to the basement of a Jewish residence from the second temple period!
From there we will go up one floor to street level and find ourselves in an active synagogue the Hurva Synagogue. We’ll climb up to the domed roof of the synagogue, where we will have a magnificent 360º view of the old city!
We will then walk through the beautiful Alleys of the Jewish Quarter and pay our respects at Gal Ed the site of a mass grave of fallen heroes from the Indepence war.
Our tour is concluded in the largest underground archeological museum in the world the Herodian Quarter. Here we will visit the houses of the upper classes that lived on the western hill during the last days of the second temple.
