Tifereth Yisrael synagogue, also known as the Nissan Beck synagogue, was built during
the last quarter of the 19th century by the Radzin and Sadigora Hassidim. It was
named the Tifereth Yisrael synagogue, after Rabbi Yisrael from Radzin. During the
War of Independence, the synagogue was used as a military position by the defenders
of the Jewish Quarter. After the Quarter fell into Jordanian hands, the synagogue
was destroyed. Today, only segments of its fa?ade remain.
