The Significance of the Company
|
The Company’s sphere of operations is probably the most sensitive in Israel, and perhaps in the world. Areas under JQDC management include the Western Wall, the Southern Wall and the Ophel, bordering the Temple Mount. The significance of responsible management is derived from the sensitivity of the administered areas.
The Company is the only arm of government in the Old City area that has the necessary tools, the experience and the sensitivity to complete the building projects, engage in the development of tourism and the preservation of the area’s unique character in accordance with government policy.

Construction:
Completion of building projects in the Quarter
Property:
Realty leasing, transfer of rights, mapping and registration, building reconstruction and preservation.
Development of Sites and Tourism:
Museums, visitor centers, memorials, archeological sites. Arranging tours and cultural events.
Environmental Protection:
Maintenance, parking, Resurrection Park, gardening and playgrounds.
